As the Oregon Executives Association reflects on 100 years of collaboration, connection, and business support in Portland, we recognized this milestone as an opportune moment to do something bigger than celebrate ourselves — to shine a light on the entire Portland business community.

Legacy & Leadership: Portland’s Networking Event of the Century is our way of honoring the resilience it has taken to rebuild, the leadership it will take to grow, and the collective spirit that has always defined doing business in this great city. After the profound challenges Covid brought to Portland’s business landscape, we believe now is exactly the right time to come together, reinvest in our relationships, and recommit to building a more prosperous future — together.

On October 21, 2026, 175 of the region’s most influential business leaders, innovators, and community champions will gather in the iconic Grand Dining Room of the historic University Club of Portland for an evening that is equal parts celebration and forward momentum. This is more than a networking event — it is a declaration of confidence in Portland, its people, and the leaders who will carry it forward.

Why This Event Matters

Portland’s business community has shown extraordinary resilience. This Centennial celebration is an intentional, high-visibility moment to reinforce the relationships, networks, and optimism that drive the city’s economy forward. It is an opportunity to unite organizations across industries — chambers, associations, civic groups, and businesses — around a shared commitment to Portland’s future.

  • Honor 100 years of business leadership, connection, and community impact
  • Celebrate Portland’s spirit of innovation, resilience, and collaboration
  • Elevate meaningful conversations about the future of Portland’s business ecosystem
  • Create intentional, high-value connections among the region’s top decision-makers
  • Signal collective confidence in Portland’s momentum and what comes next

An Evening Designed for Real Connection

This is not passive mingling. Legacy & Leadership is thoughtfully engineered for purposeful engagement. The University Club’s Grand Dining Room will be transformed into a dynamic networking landscape, featuring curated engagement stations designed to spark the right conversations between the right people.

Guests will move through the evening with intention — connecting at an Interest Match Networking Station, visiting the Portland Business Journal Business Pulse Station, engaging with OEA membership and future programming, and gathering around beautifully curated food and bar stations that keep energy high and lines short.

At 5:30 PM, a brief program will feature welcoming remarks and an uplifting panel discussion about Portland’s momentum and the opportunities ahead. The formal program will conclude by 6:00 PM, leaving the remainder of the evening for the conversations and connections that matter most.

Who Will Be in the Room

Attendance is curated and limited to 175 of Portland’s top business and community leaders — ensuring every conversation carries weight. Guests will include CEOs and business owners, civic and nonprofit leaders, emerging executives and innovators, and the established voices shaping the region’s direction across industries.

OEA’s membership spans nearly every professional category — including finance, law, marketing, real estate, technology, healthcare, hospitality, and more — representing the full breadth of Portland’s business community.
