OEA Centennial Speaker Series: Legacy Talks — Ideas That Shape The Future

As part of OEA's Centennial celebration, Legacy Talks has been elevated into a flagship speaker series — honoring 100 years of leadership while spotlighting the bold ideas shaping the future of business. The series features respected business and thought leaders presenting during select OEA luncheon meetings, and is open to the general public.

Each talk is a rare opportunity to hear from leaders who are not just participating in Portland's next chapter — they are writing it.

On May 27, we will welcome Jim Etzel, CEO of Sport Oregon to kick  off the Legacy Talks series — and there is no better voice to open this conversation. Jim will present about Sport Oregon and Oregon's position on the world stage.

A Portland native and University of Portland graduate, Jim Etzel has spent more than 30 years shaping Oregon’s sports and live events landscape. Since taking the helm at Sport Oregon in 2018, he has more than doubled the organization’s revenue, secured marquee events including the 2030 NCAA Women’s Final Four and IRONMAN 70.3 Oregon, and helped transform Portland International Raceway into the only track in the world hosting NASCAR, INDYCAR, and Formula E.

Jim also launched the SHE FLIES initiative, driving meaningful impact for girls and women in sport across Oregon.

OEA Members are invited to attend this speaker series, and can bring up to 2 guests at no additional charge. Other guests are invited to join us for just $35!
